Help for self-represented litigantsThe accessCourts initiative at the Supreme and District Courts in Brisbane offers the following services to help self-represented litigants and others who are unfamiliar with the court system. The Self-represented Litigants Service (SRLS) provides litigants in the civil jurisdiction with support services and facilities to help them prepare for court. The Self-representation Civil Law Service provides free, confidential and impartial legal advice to self-represented litigants who are conducting proceedings (including applications) in the civil trial jurisdiction of the Supreme and District Courts in Brisbane. This service is operated by the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House. Court volunteers provide support to litigants, families, victims and others as they make their way through the court system. This service is operated by Court Network for Humanity. Other volunteer services operate in a number of courthouses throughout Queensland. Contact you local courthouse for more information. |
